The death of George Floyd and the worldwide movement created in its wake has given birth to discussions, marches and various efforts to raise awareness and give back.
Minneapolis-based jewelry brand Larissa Loden created this For George bracelet. The bracelet celebrates the life of George Floyd while also honoring others who have lost their lives to racial injustice. As a company that is committed to giving back and also one located in Minneapolis, it was even more important for the brand to honor George’s life. And, of course, to support an organization committed to leading this change.
The bracelet honors everyone who has been a victim of racial injustice. And 100% of the proceeds from its sale goes to Color of Change. The nation’s largest online racial justice organization. The organization helps people respond effectively to injustice. And create policy changes at corporations and in governments.
Each bracelet has either gold-filled or sterling silver beads and the message “For George” with a heart bead in the center.
About Larissa Loden Jewelry:
Larissa Loden proudly runs a business that is Midwest-based, woman-owned and community driven. And she has been designing and creating her jewelry line since 2005. Each piece sold supports a woman-mother-artist-owned small business that employs a creative, committed team that believe in the brand and the company’s mission.
And, of course, we love women-owned brands that give back. And Larissa ensures giving is something that is part of the company DNA (even beyond the For George bracelet). Each year they donate 5% of profits to Cookie Cart, a nonprofit teaching teens life, leadership, and small business skills. And even better…they do this via training in a bakery. The company also donates to additional organizations each year.
