Reese Witherspoon has turned her Draper James lifestyle website into a place for great gifts, little winks and loads of smiles. Pretty clothes, Southern-inspired tradition and cheekiness rule the platform. But even Reese may not have realized how appropriate the ‘What Would Dolly Do’ Dolly Parton collection would become this holiday season. Because of course, Dolly is a not only the queen of country music. But she is also a grand philanthropist.
And so now we know what ‘Dolly would do’ circa 2020. Dolly Parton would contribute $1 million to the creation of a Covid-19 vaccine.
Yes, indeed, if you’ve watched the news, you know how this spirited Dolly Parton homage by Reese Witherspoon may be even more meaningful this year. The collection captures the unique humor, no-nonsense wisdom, flash and sass of one of America’s most iconic stars, says Draper James.
About Dolly Parton’s Giving:
We are all lucky to know (if we didn’t before) that Dolly Parton would do the things that we could only dream of being able to accomplish. And the vaccine was just the short of it. Read more about Dolly’s philanthropic pursuits. Just a sampling includes the more than 133 million free books she’s given to children as part of her Imagination Library. And the $9 million her My People Fund gave to people who lost their homes in the deadly fires that swept through Gatlinburg, Tennessee, in 2016.
The (gasp!) 49-time Grammy nominee and 10-time winner, was also honored with the Library of Congress Living Legend award in 2004.
So in addition to grabbing a ‘What Would Dolly Do’ gift for a loved one this year…a donation would be very Dolly as well. You can donate to the Imagination Library here.
About Draper James:
Of course we have actress, producer and entrepreneur Reese Witherspoon to thank for this fun gift. And we love that Reese has never shied away from letting us know how much she takes pride in her Southern roots.
Stepping back..Reese started the brand to honor her heritage and, in particular, her grandparents Dorothea Draper and William James Witherspoon. Reese credits her grandparents with teaching her about gracious Southern living.
From them I learned to dress and act like a lady, to take pride in my home, to reach out to help a neighbor, and to always invite everyone in for a visit.-Reese Witherspoon
