See More Great Women-Owned

From bags and scarves and necklaces to bracelets, accessories make us happy. And they are often a category where we are looking to find something a bit more unique and personal. Whether it’s for ourselves or a gift for another. Women-owned businesses are also particularly adept at seeking out and supporting artisans around the world. That’s another level of women supporting women; and supporting the planet.

So, how to discover women-owned products is a question we are asked frequently. And accessories is a particularly good category to discover as the price-point can be more accommodating; it’s great for gift-giving and is often a quick impulse purchase. We like to ask friends and family for recommendations. Also look for local coverage in newspapers and magazines. Local blogs focused on women are often a go-to for what to buy locally.

And now you are on board and you need some tips for a great accessory… So here are a few things we look for: bracelets are an easy start. Look for ones that are stackable and comfortable. These are great for you and as a gift. An easily customized bracelet, such as Monica Vinader can be both a great gift and wonderful for you too. Bags are a tougher gift (we’d actually usually steer clear). But for yourself, be thoughtful about collecting bags. For instance, don’t get a bucket back if you hate a lack of structure. Or stock up on little bags if you only need a phone and keys.
