My Billie

It started with a razor that changed everything. The team at Billie noticed that women were overpaying for razors and shamed for having body hair. Kind of a double whammy, when you think about it. So, they did away with the Pink Tax and put body hair on the big screen. Today they offer a sparkling clean collection of better beauty basics for your medicine cabinet (and handbag and gym bag and desk drawer). Powered by ingredients that do no harm, work super hard, and take the guesswork out of clean.

From the original nude lipsticks to eyeshadow palettes to blushes, each product is perfectly ‘pigMented’ to match a woman’s skin tones.

Black Girl Sunscreen

Black Girl Sunscreen was designed to start the conversation around sun safety and education. BGS took the #1 reason Black women weren’t wearing sunscreen and solved it in a way that connected with them specifically. Black Girl Sunscreen uses NO parabens, or other harmful chemicals while infusing the finest ingredients to shield and moisturize your skin without the dreaded white residue common with most sunscreen.

LIHA

In the Yoruba (Nigerian) tradition making beautifying oils, soaps and lotions from the nuts, tree bark and plants that grew in abundance was a skill that was traditionally learned by all young women. My mother is an English aromatherapist, so I naturally started to blend the two disciplines together. Whenever Abi would travel I would ask her to bring back different ingredients- especially that good Nigerian Shea from her father’s town! We tried to do a soft launch to introduce the natural beauty community to our concept, and things have been a whirlwind ever since.
